Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 September 2026
This policy explains what GraphMind collects when you use the website (graphmind.in and app.graphmind.in) or the GraphMind app for Android, why we collect it, who else handles it, and what you can do about it. GraphMind is run from India. Questions go to graphmind48@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address and your Google account ID. Google also shares your name and profile photo. The app shows them on your device, and we don't store them on our servers.
- What you learn. Your messages to the tutor and its replies; your knowledge graph, meaning the concepts you've worked on and our estimates of your mastery and progress; the trails you create, follow or archive; and your answers to the first-run questions (your role and interests).
- Files you upload. Documents and images you add to build a trail, and the text we extract from them.
- Your voice. In voice mode or dictation, audio recorded while the microphone is on is sent to be transcribed, and the tutor's replies are turned into speech. We don't keep the recordings. The microphone is used only when you turn it on.
- Reports. If you report a reply or a trail: what you reported, the reason, your note and your email address.
- Usage and diagnostics. For each request: which feature was used, when, how long it took, any error, which AI model handled it and how much text it processed, linked to your email address. Our servers also keep logs.
- Analytics. The website and the app use Google Analytics, which collects the pages you visit, how you interact with them, your device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address, using cookies or similar identifiers.
What stays on your device
To keep you signed in and let GraphMind work without a connection, your device stores your sign-in tokens, your preferences, and copies of your trails, knowledge graph and conversations. Signing out removes your sign-in and the saved copies from that device.
How we use it
- To run the tutor, keep your knowledge graph up to date, and build trails from topics and files you give us.
- To transcribe your voice and read replies aloud.
- To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and enforce usage limits.
- To find and fix problems, understand cost and performance, and improve GraphMind.
- To review reports and act on harmful or inaccurate content.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
We use service providers that process data on our behalf, only so GraphMind can work:
- Cloud hosting and databases, which store and run everything described above.
- AI model providers, which write the tutor's replies, estimate what you understand, build trails, and read text in images and scanned documents. They receive your messages, the relevant parts of your trail, and text from files you upload.
- Speech providers, which receive your voice audio to transcribe it, and reply text to turn into speech.
- Google, for sign-in and for Google Analytics.
Some of these providers process data outside India.
We also share information in these cases:
- When you share a trail. Anyone with the link can see the trail's content, its author name (the first part of your email address) and anonymous totals such as how many people are learning it.
- Organizations. If you learn through an organization's product that uses GraphMind, that organization can see your learning data in its workspace.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
How long we keep it
- Your account, knowledge graph and conversations: until you delete them or your account.
- Uploaded files: deleted automatically 30 days after upload. The text extracted from them stays with the trail.
- Usage and diagnostic records: deleted automatically after 30 days. Server logs: after 14 days.
- Reports: kept while we need them for moderation. If you delete your account, your email is removed from them.
- Google Analytics data: up to 14 months.
- Backups made by our infrastructure providers: overwritten within 60 days.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw your consent, or nominate someone to act for you. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act you can also raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India. Email graphmind48@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
- Delete your account in the app from your profile page, or see Delete your account.
- Microphone: you can turn off GraphMind's microphone permission in your phone's settings at any time. Everything except voice keeps working.
Children
GraphMind is for people aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has created an account, email graphmind48@gmail.com and we'll delete it.
Security
Data travels between your device and our servers encrypted over HTTPS. Uploaded files are kept in private storage, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so if you believe your account has been compromised, tell us straight away.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the date at the top. We'll tell you in the app about significant changes.
